Oliver Twinsafe Achieves ISO 15848-1 Qualification For Offshore Valve Project

Oliver Twinsafe has reached an important technical milestone with the successful ISO 15848-1 qualification of a 2 inch Class 1500 trunnion-mounted, soft-seated ball valve. The qualification was delivered by the company’s Research and Development team as part of a major offshore valve package for the Leviathan field.
ISO 15848-1 is an internationally recognised standard for controlling fugitive emissions from valves, a critical requirement for offshore developments where environmental protection, safety and long-term reliability are paramount. Achieving this qualification confirms the valve’s ability to perform under demanding operating conditions while supporting emissions reduction targets and regulatory compliance.
The qualified valve features a trunnion-mounted design to enhance mechanical stability and reduce operating torque, combined with a soft-seated configuration to ensure consistent, reliable sealing. The non-standard face-to-face length further demonstrates Oliver Twinsafe’s capability to engineer bespoke valve solutions tailored to specific project and installation requirements.
This latest qualification highlights Oliver Twinsafe’s continued investment in valve research, development and in-house testing capability. By combining British engineering expertise with a deep understanding of offshore applications, the company continues to support complex global energy projects with high-performance valve solutions.
The achievement reinforces Oliver Twinsafe’s position as a trusted supplier of engineered valves for critical offshore service, and recognizes the technical expertise and commitment of the R&D team in delivering project-specific valve designs to internationally recognized standards.
